HR Generalist
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced HR Generalist to run the day-to-day HR operations, HRIS data quality, payroll coordination and people processes for our Spain entities. Reporting to the local HR Manager, you’ll partner day-to-day with them in our Barcelona office, working closely together to keep HR operations running smoothly and continuously improving how we support employees. You’ll also collaborate with EU/Group HR colleagues and partner with the Finance department to ensure accurate data, timely monthly cycles, and smooth execution of key HR processes. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines strong operational rigor with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
Why this role
• Own the full HR Operations engine for Spain: HRIS accuracy, payroll inputs, benefits and employee lifecycle execution.
• Make a real impact on the business and employees’ well-being by keeping HR processes clear, reliable, compliant and employee-friendly.
• Collaborate closely with HR Management, Finance and EU/Group teams, contributing to SEU OKR-based cycles and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
HR Operations, HR Administration & HRIS (core):
• Own and maintain HR data accuracy in HiBob (HRIS): employee details, job changes, in/outs, absences, documentation and system hygiene
• Track and manage absenteeism, sick leave, maternity/paternity leave and other leave types in HiBob
• Prepare and manage HR documentation (addenda, certificates, internal policies, acknowledgements, etc.), including signature tracking and archiving
• Coordinate and administer employee benefits with vendors (private health insurance, meal vouchers, etc.): enrollments, changes, leavers
• Support and coordinate Labor Risk Prevention processes with external partners.
Payroll inputs, reporting & external provider coordination:
• Collect, validate and calculate monthly payroll inputs: variable compensation, commissions, incidences, ensuring timely submission and high data accuracy
• Liaise with the external payroll provider: follow up on incidences, review payslips, and resolve queries to meet monthly deadlines
• Partner with Finance on headcount/labour cost inputs, data consistency and monthly reporting deadlines.
Employee relations & internal support:
• Provide high-quality support to employees and managers on HR operational topics (payroll, benefits, leaves, policies, HR documentation)
• Ensure local execution aligns with global HR guidelines and ways of working
• Partner with HR Management and leaders to draft and distribute internal communications (email, Slack, intranet, newsletters)
• Events and team-building management
People Programs & HR cycles (lifecycle support):
• Provide operational support to ensure key people processes run smoothly end-to-end
• Performance Appraisal & Goal Setting: support timelines, tools/workflows, employee/manager guidance and training, tracking completion and documentation
• OKR cycles: support cadence, follow-up, tracking and reporting for OKR progress and outcomes (in coordination with HR Management / SEU HR)
• Merit review / compensation cycles: coordinate inputs, validate data, support documentation and process governance
• Employee engagement/satisfaction surveys: support launch logistics, communications, participation tracking and follow-up actions
• Equality protocol and related compliance processes: support documentation, internal communications and operational implementation with relevant stakeholders.
Recruitment coordination (with Group Recruitment Hub):
• Open requisitions locally and manage approvals in Teamtailor
• Coordinate the recruitment process with the Group recruiters and hiring managers: scheduling, process follow-up, status updates, and operational alignment
• Support final stages by coordinating required local inputs for offer preparation and onboarding setup.
Onboarding, offboarding & training administration:
• Own the administrative and legal side of onboarding/offboarding: checklists, documentation, HRIS updates and stakeholder coordination
• Coordinate corporate induction and ensure consistent, compliant employee journeys
• Maintain the training calendar and support training administration/reporting (including FUNDAE coordination with an external provider when applicable)
Requirements Must have:
• 3+ years of experience in HR Operations / HR Administration / HR Generalist roles with strong operational ownership
• Solid knowledge of Spanish labor law and HR documentation practices
• Experience supporting recurring people processes (e.g., performance cycles, goal setting, engagement surveys, merit inputs) from an operational standpoint
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups; comfortable working with datasets and reconciliations).
• Experience coordinating with external providers (payroll, benefits, labor risk prevention, etc.)
• High attention to detail, strong confidentiality, and reliability with sensitive data
• Fluent in Spanish and English (Catalan is a plus)
• Proactive attitude: ability to spot issues, propose solutions, and drive closure end-to-end
Nice to have:
• Experience with HiBob or similar HRIS
• Familiarity with OKR methodology
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working is a plus
• Experience using tools like Trello and/or Jira to keep projects visible, organized, and delivered
• Comfort using AI tools to improve documentation and communications (with good judgment and confidentiality)
• Exposure to equality-related HR processes (documentation, internal awareness actions, process support).
Key competencies:
• Strong ownership and accountability; proactive problem-solver (not just task execution)
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to HR data quality
• Able to manage priorities autonomously in a fast-moving environment
• Clear communicator with employees and managers at different seniority levels.
• Service-oriented mindset with a practical, improvement-driven approach
What we offer:

• Hybrid smart working (up to 80% remote / 4 days WFH per week)
• Flexible working schedule
• Career growth opportunities within an international, growing group
• Close, friendly work environment
• Stable, long-term position
